Description:
The field of cutaneous oncology is rapidly evolving, with multiple new developments transforming the prognosis, molecular evaluation, treatment, and patient follow-up. The Melanoma and Cutaneous Oncology Symposium is designed to provide relevant, practical, and focused educational updates specifically aimed at elevating the care of individuals with skin cancers. In engaging interactive lectures and patient case presentations, nationally recognized experts will present the latest data on prevention, risk assessment, early detection, genetic factors, current treatment options, and future therapies. A broad range of topics will be covered, including issues in surgical management, adjuvant therapy, treatment of advanced disease, strategies to individualize treatment plans, and more. By participating in this course, clinicians will be better prepared for a wide array of patient presentations and will have improved confidence in their ability to make challenging clinical decisions that may improve clinical outcomes and help maintain patients’ quality of life.
Educational Objectives:
After attending this live activity, participants should be able to:
- Describe the epidemiology, pathophysiology, and risk factors associated with melanoma, squamous cell carcinoma, Merkel cell carcinoma, and other neoplasms involving the skin.
- Apply best practices in the diagnosis, evaluation, and classification of melanoma and other cutaneous malignancies.
- Identify genetic mutations and other biomarkers relevant to the diagnosis and risk assessment of patients with melanoma or squamous cell carcinoma.
- Integrate the latest medical therapies and surgical techniques into the care of patients with cutaneous malignancies.
- Adopt new strategies to facilitate comprehensive and multidisciplinary care for patients throughout the skin cancer journey.
