Description
The session content originates from an in-person hands-on cadaver lab at the 2023 ASDS Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL, co-directed by Drs. H. William Higgins II, MD, MBE and Christopher Miller, MD.
Learn nuances about anatomy and reconstruction not found in textbooks! Renowned ASDS experts demonstrate the design and execution of a 2-stage forehead flap, 3-stage forehead flap, cheek-to-nose interpolation flap and Abbe flap. Each section begins a case study video covering flap location anatomy, flap design and defect repair demonstration, and ends with a recap video on a cadaveric cephalus specimen.
Learning Objectives
Following this activity, participants should be able to:
- Summarize key anatomic principles for reproducible results of advanced reconstruction.
- Recognize the ideal defect and indications for using each repair.
- Implement the step-by-step process of various complex repairs.
